Description
The idea is to evaluate whether Feynman’s argument for the classical path, within the path-integral formulation of quantum mechanics, applies to the discrete-spacetime systems that (discrete-time) quantum walks are. These quantum walks have been shown to be particularly adapted to the discretization of fundamental field-theory equations (Dirac equation, with Abelian and non-Abelian couplings), and to their implementation with quantum circuits to be run on quantum computers. The study will be essentially numerical (Python code), with the possibility to explore certain analytical arguments if time allows it and the student has the taste for it.
