Morphogenesis: how can complex structures spontaneously emerge from instabilities and how can we drive them through simple physical design principles ? Building up on new bio-based formulations, this internship focuses on experimentally and theoretically studying the mechanisms driving self-organized deformations in swelling gels, from fringe formation to macroscopic twisting and surface creasing.
