Description
This internship focuses on developing quantitative models to investigate the interplay between RNA polymerase and topoisomerases, two key molecular machines involved in gene expression. RNA polymerase generates torsional stress while transcribing DNA, which is relaxed by topoisomerases that modify DNA topology. Using analytical and simulation tools from statistical mechanics, the project aims to extend an existing model to both explain unresolved experimental observations and predict novel molecular behaviors.
