In this internship, the candidate will address the case of a spin mixture of dysprosium atoms in the Zeeman sublevels |−8⟩and |−7⟩. For a sufficiently small interspecies scattering length, a78, a 50:50 mixture becomes significantly more dipolar than a spin-polarized sample. In our recent work [Lecomte2025], we determined a88 = 136(8)a0, a77 =110(10) a0, and a78 = 40(20) a0, which suggests that this “dopant-induced” supersolid state is experimentally feasible.
